We have procured free parking in Lot 1D for Disability Summit attendees, about 0.4 (four-tenths) miles away from the Stamp Student Union. If you park elsewhere on campus without a permit, you will very likely be ticketed and even towed. There will be an attendant at Lot 1D. In the morning, we will have volunteers stationed at Lot 1D and along the route to the Stamp Student Union to help you find your way.
We have created printable driving directions and a map of Lot1D and the Stamp Student Union.
Here is a map of the route from Lot 1D to the Stamp Student Union:
There is metered parking at the Regents Drive garage, from 7:00am to midnight at a rate of $3 per hour, with a maximum daily rate of $16. Please note that there is an uphill climb to get to the Stamp Student Union from Regents Drive.
See the map for all visitor parking on the University of Maryland Campus.
If you have a SmarTrip card from WMATA, you can park at the College Park metro station or the Prince George's Plaza metro station and take a shuttle to the University of Maryland (there may be several stops on these routes; Stamp is the last one).
The Union Lane Garage will be closed to visitors on April 21.
WMATA recently announced that SafeTrack Surge #14 will include the complete closure of the College Park Metro Station from Saturday, April 15 through Saturday, April 29. Free shuttle buses will run between Greenbelt and Prince George’s Plaza with an intermediate stop at College Park. Green Line trains will run close to regular service elsewhere on the line, between Prince George’s Plaza and Branch Ave, every 6 to 8 minutes during rush hours.
To help mitigate the inconvenience to the UMD community, Shuttle-UM buses will run between campus and Prince George's Plaza Metro Station weekdays from 7:00am through 8:00pm. Buses will run approximately every 6 – 12 minutes, weekdays only, beginning Monday, April 17 through Friday, April 28, 7:00am – 8:00pm. The University has provided a route map for the shuttle.
The 104 shuttle from College Park Metro Station to the University of Maryland will still run, as well.
Walking Directions to STAMP Student Union (Friday)
Stamp Student Union can be confusing to navigate. Look for signs and volunteers in neon green shirts to point the way.
- From Regents Drive Garage: Take the garage elevator to the 3rd floor and exit via the walkway to Hornbake Plaza. Cross the plaza and go up the large staircase at the far corner, or go around the plaza and up the hill via the sidewalk. Stamp Student Union will be to your right just after you pass the bus stop. Enter through the glass doors and turn left. There is an elevator on your left halfway down the hallway, across from the UPS store. Take the elevator to the second floor.
- Via the UMD Shuttle (104) from the College Park Metro Station: Stamp Student Union will be in front of you as you exit the shuttle. Enter through the glass doors and turn left. There is an elevator on your left halfway down the hallway, across from the UPS store. Take the elevator to the second floor.
