Bertot Presents Paper on Open Government at HICSS Conference

iPAC Director John Bertot published the paper “Measurement of Open Government: Metrics and Process” in the Proceedings of the 45th Annual Hawaii International Conference on Systems Sciences held in Maui January 4-7, 2012. The paper, co-authored by Partrice McDermott of and Ted Smith of Metro Louisville Government, received a “best paper” nomination at the conference, and focuses the development of methodologies and metrics through which to measure, assess, and evaluate open government initiatives in U.S. Federal agencies.

The paper extends the work of iPAC in the area of openness and transparency, and relates to two current iPAC projects and grans: Libraries and E-government: New Partnerships in Public Service; and Government Information Service in the 21st Century.
