The conference will be held in Orlando April 18-20, 2012. As librarians increasingly serve as providers of e-government services in their communities, this session will discuss the skills and educational needs necessary for future librarians. This session is based on the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS)-funded E-government Librarian scholarship grant received by iPAC (more information is at http://ipac.umd.edu/our-work/government-information-service-21st-century
), and draws on the iPAC and American Library Association e-government partnership grant also funded by IMLS (more information is at http://ipac.umd.edu/our-work/egovernment-partnerships
). Janet Norton (West Palm Beach Public Library, FL) and Lawrence Mello, Jr. (Florida Atlantic University, FL) -- both in the E-government Librarian scholarship program -- will join iPAC co-director John Bertot for the presentation, along with Pamela Thompson (Florida State Library) and Nancy Fredericks (Pasco County Public Library, FL).
