Join us for the UMD Disability Summit: Activism and Advocacy in the Academy on April 8th, 2016 at the University of Maryland.
Students, faculty, and staff of the University as well as anyone else in the community, other schools, government agencies, and non-profits interested in innovative research and teaching related to disability are welcome to attend. The focus of the Summit is on the ways in which academic research and education can improve the lives of people with disabilities.
The Summit will be from 12:30-4:30, featuring presentations, posters, display tables, and refreshments. Along with the presentations, there will be time for networking and sharing ideas.
Attendance is free, but we need you to register.
Sponsors of this event include the President’s Commission on Disability Issues, the Office of Diversity & Inclusion, the College of Information Studies, the Division of Information Technology, TerpAccess, the Department of Counseling, Higher Education, and Special Education, and the Information Policy & Access Center.
